1/48th Scale

Whilst we have produced turned items in 48th for some time, we have not made anything else in that scale. Things changed in September when a customer asked for a miniature stool to go with a piano. On inspection, the piano was found to be quarter scale. The stool was made and attracted a great deal of interest. This prompted us to make a settle, benches and trestle table to show at the ExCel fair back in January. All of the items were sold within the first hour of the show opening. Other pieces made since, along with the timber framed display box, have also sold out. The display box with settle, table and pewter plates is shown above.

We are now looking to expand the range of furniture in this scale along with the addition of some traditional English cottages and houses. We are also experimenting with some ideas in 144th scale.

Other New Pieces
Also on show at ExCel were shop boxes in both 12th and 24th scales. Those in 1/24th have proved to be very popular along with the cottages we often have available at fairs.

Clothes props are now available in the two main scales and are made as working or fixed pieces.

Wooden coat (clothes) hangers were introduced towards the latter part of 2003. These are available in both of the larger scales.

The next main area of development (other than items in 1/48th), is to expand our range of pewter. Some pieces were on show at the Spring Miniatura for the first time and were well received. This range will also include 48th scale.

A number of people have ordered desks based on those made for the Ruby event at Miniatura last year. Those were “one offs” and any that have been made subsequently have been different. There is a possibilty of a similar type of desk being added to our range in the future.

Fairs
Dorking, Epsom and Kempton have been added to the list of fairs that we are attending this year. We have however dropped Alexandra Place and thank those customers who have supported us there. Hopefully we will see you at one of the other fairs that we are attending in the south east and London areas.

This is now up and running. To register, simply send your email address to info@willowmodels.com and you will be added to our mailing list. All emails are checked for virus’s before being sent out. Please see our privacy policy in the Contact Us section.

Web Site
The completion of the site has taken longer than expected but we are nearly there. Once we had something up and running, priorities turned once again to making things.
As well as the pages that are still to be completed, new sections are to be added for the range of shop boxes and 1/48th pieces that we are now making.

What’s New enables us to keep you up to date with our latest developments. These may be new pieces that we are introducing, commissions that we are working on or items that we are having problems with. Yes, things go wrong for us as well. We welcome your feedback about this section or indeed anything to do with our work and the web site itself.
